About Laurence ...

Art has always been my passion.  Early promise was shown when my painting for 'O' Level was displayed in the National Exhibition of Childrens' Art.  When followed up by achieving 'A' Level Art at 15, I was destined for art college.  Life then got in the way of plans.  Instead I took 2 academic degrees ending up in a career in Law.

Retirement has now finally enabled me to focus on my passion which is to create aesthetically pleasing paintings, either as abstracts or from life.  Rightly or wrongly, I distain using art speak to describe my work or allude to hidden depths which so often prove shallow.  Either my work appeals visually or it doesn't.  

I paint in acrylics which is a versatile, vibrant and fast drying medium, enabling a range of finishes.  I divide my time - and my painting - between London and the Algarve.  Clicking on any image on my website will provide information on the painting's location, size and, if for sale, the price.
